About Me

Hi, I'm Radek Řezáč — a Data Platform Architect and Senior Lead Data Engineer with extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure.Since 2022 I've worked as an independent consultant, leading complex data platform engagements end-to-end — from architecture definition through to production-ready implementation. Before that I held senior data engineering roles where I designed large-scale data warehouses, led cloud migrations, and mentored engineering teams.

What I Build

My work revolves around the modern data stack: Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, PySpark), Snowflake (stored procedures, RBAC, Streams, Tasks), Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Pipelines), Azure Data Factory (orchestration, metadata-driven pipelines), and dbt (SQL and Python models, macros, tests).I'm defined by a strong philosophy of generalisation and reusability — building fully parameterised, template-driven frameworks that replace one-off scripts with maintainable, extensible platform components. All solutions are Git-versioned, CI/CD deployed via Azure DevOps, and designed for long-term operability.

Engineering Discipline

I bring a rigorous software-engineering discipline to data platform delivery. That means single-responsibility pipeline design, metadata-driven configuration, privilege-escalation security patterns (no human holds GRANT rights), and full audit traceability on every pipeline run. Platforms I build are designed to empower teams — not create dependency on their builder.

Free Time

In addition, I’m an avid cyclist—whether it’s mountain biking or road cycling. I used to play hockey and soccer. In the winter, I enjoy skiing, both cross-country and downhill. I love traveling around the world, whether with my family or with friends. I enjoy active vacations, both in the mountains and on the water. I also enjoy taking photos on my travels.
